Buy a used thinkpad, generally around the core 2 duo era. Load libreboot on it, make sure your wifi card and other internal components are libre then load Parabola.

Then realize GNU is still bloat and install alpine.

Then realize android is bloat and buy yourself a pine phone.

Finally, realize jobs are bloat and move into uncle ted's cabin.

I personally like Arch but other's like ubuntu, Arch is a pain to install but its worth it in my op but you can also use ubuntu if you like simpler installs

@bennytrt mega rip, the distro your using is a fork of arch right? so mostly everything should be similar with main arch

I remember there was a program which was like a launcher for roblox but on linux and its super ez to setup (found a tutorial of it! its called grapejuice, tutorial link here)

but yeah you can kiss goodbye to exploiting because that is definitely not supported on linux lmao (unless you make atonix supported with linux, that'd be pretty sick honestly)

Unless you've used Linux desktop for long enough to the point where you have good reasons not to, go with the flow of people. Pick one of the top available distributions based on their most user-facing aspects, like the preinstalled desktop environment, the size of the community, and most importantly its ease of use. You're not missing out on anything if you go with one distro over the other.

Gaming and C# development are things any distro can do equally well. Install steam, install dotnetcore or mono, go to town. No distro is going to set you back here.

And no, don't waste your time with Arch just yet. Arch is not inherently better than any simpler distribution. The best distribution in every logical sense is one you can use best, and Arch is horrible and a total waste of time unless you're advanced enough to know how to use it, and have a real need to. The people who hail it as a solution to everything tend to be reaaaally inept at using it themselves. A great example is the group of people in this thread. But hey, who can blame kids, right?

TL:DR; Install something that's popular, easy to use, and looks nice to you. Arch is bad for you. Non-exhaustive and non-ordered list of distros worth your attention as a beginner:

it will no longer be possible to contact me here, but i will be on session for at least a bit :)
