Php huh thats old

CPanel, Wordpress, Facebook, Lyft, MIT, etc, partially or completely use PHP, all of which being very well relevant. It being an old technology makes it a very well tested technology. It also helps that there are tons of educational sources out there on PHP. Even for the most uncommon issue, you can find a solution out there just because it is so old. That helps make it a great first language to learn for backend web development. Unlike with Node.js or C++ where you have to pretty much understand programming to work out an issue you can't find on Google.

PHP is not dead, and who uses PHP? Facebook, Wikipedia, Yahoo, Flickr, Tumblr, Friendster, iStock, Wordpress, Pinterest, and many more.
