On the DevForums I've seen a lot of people going insane over obfuscation and what to use to secure their game scripts. Here's the truth : NONE.
No obfuscator can not be deobfuscated, look at Synapse Xen for example. Amazing obfuscation but here's the thing. It's not 100% secure. There is many methods of tampering with Synapse Xen to mini-deobfuscate and I'm sure there is a full-deobfuscate method like that. Same goes to Ironbrew and every single obfuscation out there.
Even if I make this thread, people will still call obfuscation, "secure your scripts" but obfuscation shouldn't be called that. Sure it helps you secure your scripts from skids & more but it shouldn't be considered as "oh let me obfuuscate my script so nobody can ever get the source code" but instead should be "let me protect my script by a little bit"
EDIT :
Plus 99% of the time the obfuscator logs your original script so it's not even hidden anymore since a exploiter has your script since a exploiter probably made your obfuscator that you're using, like Synapse Xen, Ironbrew & Luraph are all made by exploiters.
Not to mention, most obfuscators WILL leak your scripts. Take for example Luraph. Scripts get leaked by memcorrupt EVERY day.. There has even been a expose on v3rmillion made by Ari with proof he logs and leaks the scripts.
