So i'm thinking of hosting a sharex uploader open to the public and i heard about digitalocean spaces for static content hosting.

It's only 5 bucks per month and that's for 250GB of data, which is a lot. If i combine this with a 5$ droplet (im probably gonna go for a 10$ one if i can), it's gonna cost me 10$ per month only (if i don't count when the transfer cap gets passed and other things).

I think 10$ per month (or 120$ per year) is an extremely good price, but because i'm on a budget i can't spend a lot.

@Wabz

Digital Ocean is retarded because :

- Literally one of the most easiest things to DDoS, when my server was DDoSed it was down for an hour until the attacker lifted the attack, so for an HOUR their "bot security" didn't do a thing to interfere with the attack

- If you host your own malware or anything like that, they will shut it down because they think some kid wizarded the hell out of me and made me plant malware and hack into my PC or something but when you tell them it's yours, silence and no refund.

- I don't know if this only happens to me but for some reason, my DigitalOcean server lags HARD.

Alternatives :

Vultr - Twice the RAM of Digital Cloud, custom snapshots, good support, it runs on good speed, they don't blacklist your servers for retarded reasons like hosting your own malware. Good DDoS protection and more.

@COVID10 Well it's good that they close droplets used to host malware. They could be used for illegal activities (most of the time).

@COVID10 Also, never rely on DDOS protection from anyone but cloudflare.

Cloudflare dns is also free.

@COVID10 And for Vultr, it really seems like a good option. It's also cheaper. I might switch.

@56147this kid can ddos cloudflare, cloudflare is one of the easiest things to ddos as well, google "cloudflare bypass" and look at all of the methods, there is atleast a millions of bypasses and DDoS attacks that bypass cloudflare. hell, they are literally common in paid booters for like a dollar.

@COVID10 vultr is not better though (well idk), its just less common

Also, vultr's storage option is kinda overpriced compared to digitalocean spaces

Also if your server lagged way too much, you probably had some kind of crypto miner inside of it.

Hmm vultr ddos bypassed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdQjmJW9jD8

@56147yup but it takes a LOT of power, like atleast 500 gbps but DigitalOcean goes down under like 5 gbps

@56147Also, if it had a crypto miner, why didn't they shut it down?
