@MyUserIsTaken C++ is mostly used for things that require speed and "low level" things such as making an operating system. however its much easier than C and it has OOP features which is always nice to have. It was also used a lot for applications, although Java (swing and others), C# (winforms, wpf), and JavaScript (Electron) are used for that too nowdays. whenever you need to deal with memory or pointers, you should also use C/C++ (or assembly i wouldnt bother)
