Is WinRAR on WRD Free, and why should I download it?

I heard that WinRAR is the best Zip and RAR archiver out there, and I am interested why, because I am a 7-Zip boi.

My first question, If I download WinRAR off WRD, is it free?

I know that WRD's software is free, but WinRAR you have to pay for if you get it from the legit website. Can some one answeer this for me?

My second question, Why should I use WinRAR?

WinRAR is one of the best Zip and RAR Archivers and "Extractors" there are, but Why get it? Answer this for me please.

the download on wrd links to the official winrar site
