personally when making websites I suggest makimg them from scratch, gives more of an experience and let's you learn more, the Google way helps alot but restricts some functions. Learning to make a website. You should learn html, then Css fir more design functions then Js for animations etc.

Also I recommend going and visiting https://www.w3bschools.com this had alot of information from html to php etc.
