It would be nice having a account synced read/unread feature on the forum

Okay, but what if a thread has 1000 views?
In V3rmillion on the home page you can see which ones are connected, it is a disaster..
Btw I don't know if I understood your suggestion correctly.

Pretty much like an email system, you can mark a thread unread or read and it'll grey the forum title
