Subtle Change in V3RM

There's a subtle change in V3RM that you might not notice. (This site itself still going strong.)
Somehow or in someway, they disable the way to access the user control panel to customize your profile, change passworrd etc. (usually displayed the cog icon on the right side of the page)
Wonder why they took this step though.
(Also images on signature? That's a thing now?)
