How do externals usually work and are they like 100% undetected or what?

Externals modify memory externally and use c++ or whatever language you want that's somewhat low level.

Doesn't have to be low level at all. I've seen a walkspeed and teleport exploit made using .bat LOL. Then more complex exploits like ESP using Python

They do what an internal exploit does but the exploit logic exists in a different process. Upsides: no code injection is strictly required. Downsides: reduced efficiency and obviously not full control over the target process in regards to execution. Hybrids exist too. Inject a code cave, the exploit logic now partially exists in-process.
