This.Close() : it just closes the current window, this is what normally everyone should use,

This.Hide() : Hides the window but application runs in background, it's annoying.

Application.Exit() : Exists the applications and closes any opened window.

Forms Control Box Codes :

For Exit Button: Application.Close(); |OR| Close();

For Maximize Button: WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized;

For Minimize Button: WindowState = FormWindowState.Minimized;

and if maximize button clicked and you want to return to defualt size of the application you need this code:

WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal;
