ida isn't some toy, its used by professional pentesters and reverse engineers, so its understandable if its priced as it is.

IDA isn't used by enough people to be community supported (Advertisements). Its also an extremely complex program, so very likely expensive to produce. People tend to crack it, but I'm not one to support the distribution of cracked content.
