Is lua and roblox lua the same thing? 

And if I where to make a script for hacking or somet do I need to just learn lua or do I need to learn both?

@DadComeBack roblox lua is a modified version of lua made to be used on the roblox platform

so basically lua is an embedded language, its easy to add them into other apps to allow the user to script, which is the case for roblox. for roblox, you will need to know roblox lua, which is very similar to the official lua from what i know.
