1. Not the best font choice
3. Not the best colour scheme. Colours don't fit well and look awkward.
2. Use a different text editor (monaco, ace, avalon) as they are code editors
4. Modify the buttons somewhat. Default buttons don't look good here.
5. Come up with a unique layout. This layout has been used many times before.

@Ifinder Being a beginner doesn't reduce the flaws. I'm telling you this so you can at least find something to improve.
Also, there are still many other ways to keep it simple looking, if that is the style you are going for.

colour scheme is really off and font choice is really weird
highly recommend a new editor too and change the button colours or maybe give them icons. its really up to you
