Tired of listening to the retards who know literally jack about Linux and still bother to reply with their brains the size of their 3 inch penises.
Linux will do most things that you need it to out of the box, that includes:
- Games, mostly on Steam. Most, that is, ones that can't are probably horrible ones whose devs are just retards with terrible anticheats or those that just contribute to the Windows circlejerk. Vulkan is good.
- Word processing, many choices: Browser based services such as those seen by Google, out-of-the-box ones like LibreOffice or if you're that kind of person, Wine will work fine for Microsoft's Office.
- Video players, music players, etc, anything media related works fine.
- Web browsers, extensions, Discord, BetterDiscord and so on.
- Compilers, build/development tools, IDEs like VSC.
- Torrents, file management, etc.
Can't think of much that it won't do, whatever it doesn't run, platforms like Wine will (https://www.winehq.org/) and as some mentioned if you're a developer on the Roblox platform you can utilize Grapejuice to sluggishly run Studio, although it's a pretty bad experience from what I tried. Roblox client will not work and you shouldn't expect it to for a while.

You most likely won't need any Windows programs on your laptop, but if you need some, there is Wine and Proton that can help. Also, there are web based versions of microsoft office if you are fine with that. Aquatic's answer is much more detailed tho.

@SentroX bruh that answer is so f*cking stupid.
why does linux run the internet? why does android use the linux kernel? why does the government use linux for important stuff? stop being so ignorant, btw this website is hosted on a linux server. and yes linux can run some windows programs with the help of wine and proton.

@59853No, Linux can't run Roblox (yet), neither will it be able to run exploits. Progress into this is being made but it's slow, Roblox is to blame for riding Windows and refusing to port to Linux or at the very least fix their pisspoor anticheat.

Grapejuice IS essentially Wine, and due to the nature of how Roblox works, sure, you can install and run it, but it's not going to work as you 'expect', I'm not sure about which exactly part of Roblox's anticheat messes this up, but any attempt to connect to a game will just be refused, anything local will work however, as long as you're in Studio.
This is a well known issue, Roblox was playable fully on wine up until about 2013-2014, when it stopped due to some anticheat updates, and Roblox is asked to support Linux a lot of the time, but it's met with arrogant and pointless refusals.
