Okay so i know many people are gonna get angry by this thread, but i think using Kali Linux is not worth it.
First, if you think using Kali makes you cool, no it does not.
Theres two types of people in this world: those who know nothing about hacking/programming and those who know Kali won't help you pentest more than any other Linux Distribution. Now you might be asking, what is a Linux Distribution? Basically, it's a flavour of GNU/Linux (commonly called Linux it's just the kernel). Kali Linux is one of those. Now, what does Kali change? Basically, it adds a bunch of preinstalled hacking tools (you won't use most of them) and adds a bunch of kernel patches that make it unstable for some reason. Arch Linux is literally more stable than this.
Kali Linux is also based on Debian GNU/Linux, which is praised for its stability and big software repositories (think of it like an app store). The thing is that the only real point to Debian is stability, which Kali breaks, and other Linux distributions have more packages in unofficial repositories (app stores). Most skids simply use Kali Linux because its what is shown in "hacking tutorials" and they talk about it like it's super amazing when in reality it's nothing else than a unstable hacking OS preinstalled with bloat. If you want to have the tools, i suggest Parrot OS (which is actually okay for normal use) and BlackArch (which can be installed on top of Arch based Linux Distributions, including Manjaro).
Otherwise, pick what you like and install the hacking software you need. That's what a lot of hackers do. You can even pentest on Windows or MacOS if you really want that. So, in conclusion, Kali is not a good Linux distribution, it's even worse for normal use, and it's heavily bloated. Only use Kali if you are a lazy skid looking for some new hot "hacking tutorials".

Kali imo i dislike, i dont see why you would want a bunch of tools pre installed when you can manually choose the category or type on arch based distros. Hell you can even download the black arch repository on arch and it takes barely any storage.

@MyUserIsTaken theres no such thing such as "the best linux distro", but i can think of many distros that are better than ubuntu imo.
