Best way to learn Luau?

First off start learning from the Lua documentation, as you may know, it was based off of that language, (Luau is modified Lua as you can tell): https://www.lua.org/manual/5.4/ and head to the The Language section, this is the beginning. While you're at it keep trying to use those basics and turn them into something so you'd have more knowledge on what you're using, after you're pretty much used to the basics and you're not getting slow while using them then you can get to another level which is pretty much exploit documentation, start reading many exploit documentation and familiarize yourself with it, use it to make scripts on basic games, once you're familiarized you can head on the hooking part which may be a bit confusing at start (my brain almost melted) but when you learn more on it you'd pretty much learn they just put it in confusing words and you will understand what each keyword means, not everybody learns the same way others do but there's one thing I guarentee you, you're going to suffer a lot of erroring, so when you learn the basics i recommend you get some imagination when it comes to error handling, expect some errors which may not even happen because it might fix other errors (happens to me). if you're confused on something just throw me a dm: kura#6311

If you attempt to learn a language fast, you are almost always guaranteed to fail

simply because languages aren't meant to be learned fast, they're meant to be studied. 95% of the roblox community proclaims themselves as a lua/luau developer yet those remaining 5% are the real gods at lua and the people who actually understand how lua works. For me for example, coming from a background of C++, a good understanding on how memory works, I can read Lua's source code and understand how it works perfectly fine. If you want to really learn lua, you need to understand it. I'm not saying you should go read their source just yet, but you definitely should experiment with lua / luau itself.

As others said, Learn how lua works and what it is; The basics.

I just refer to Roblox Lua and Synapse functions (documentation) (As you want to make scripts using it).

I don't recommend watching tutorials as it's not really effective. Explore it yourself, It's fun.

Hello, I'll answer this question for you in the simplest and most efficient way possible to avoid all the bullsh¡t.

Step 0.1: Read the LUA syntax (yes if you actually read it it'll give you a TON of understanding which is so useful)

Step 1: watch all of wyn's tutorials on youtube

Step 2: make an arsenal script and some other shooter game script

Step 3: Go on youtube and watch tutorials on Lookvector and upvector, learning CFrame and Vector3 alongside that as well.

Step 4: make an anime game autofarm from what you just learnt

Step 5: Learn metatables (easy as hell, go find a thread on v3rm)

Step 6: Learn metamethods and hookfunction and raycasting

Step 7: Now, with your combined knowledge of upvalues/constants, CFrame & Vectors, metatables, etc. Create a genuine script for a game.

this process takes a month and after that you'll pretty much be able to create anything
