Incase you're not aware, mysterious gummy bots have been appearing and originally they posed no harm besides the fact that random accounts were being made, but eventually they made their way into the chat and since then (it's been like 2+ hours as of writing this thread) they've been spamming the chat and not stopping.
Hiroku (best mod 10/10) was initially neg repping all the accounts, but everytime he did a new one would appear within 5-10 seconds, so it was a constant war with the bots but as of now Hiroku has gone silent and no other mods are trying to help.
With that being said, I don't know what's gonna happen, Jon needs to do something about this as it is very limited as to what the mods can do.
I don't even know what to further say honestly, this is a really big problem and it's suspected to originate from ishan when he open sourced ShadowBot.
I guess let's see what happens?
EDIT: I wrote this thread a little while ago but forgot to submit it, as of now the gummies are claiming it's Emiray and that it's part of his "dos" plan.

Already ranted in FrontPageClub and in Xero's email, I'll outline what I have to say here as well.
1. Moderators here are not the same in the sense that most people think. We do not have proper moderation tools like bans and account deletions/locks. These actions can only be done by Xero himself. Any actions done by moderators only include repping accounts or mediating disputes on the forum/discord.
2. Global chat is a very alpha product, which is not me making excuses for it. If it is an alpha product, why are there no basic features like spam detection, or a reputation check for only known people to use it? A filter exists yes, but does not have any wildcards in place or an actual cycling dictionary. 99.9% of people using the forum are bypassing it anyway, so either it should be enforced (in that case, how? Mods can't do anything other than rep people.) or removed.
3. Why are there no username and/or IP checks? A person can make 20 accounts on the site without a proxy or VPN and have them all function. The same account name with an underscore + random keys being pressed can be made quickly and easily, all from your own home connection.
4. The mods legitimately cannot contact Xero most of the time. Unless he responds to emails or is on discord once in a blue moon, we send him an email and pray he reads it in a timely manner. There is no slack channel the mods are in with Xero, nor is there a secret discord account we DM, we just email and pray.
These points are really only for the forum and overall site, as moderators have the tools needed on the discord server. (If not, @ me and give an outline of what you want to be implemented.) While Xero has given the green light on the discord server, it is being run by myself and 3 other admins as well as a much-appreciated moderator team.
