@Darkn this one takes the cake for what a sirhurt user would say after a database breach

There has not been any breaches of our database since the first incident. We've moved onto the Argon2id hashing alg and we're proud to say we combine your information with a 500 character randomly generated salt before being hashed and stored. We have improved our security for sure! I'd love to see someone have fun trying to bruteforce that. The breach occured because Honda exploited a vulnerability in one of our old backend scripts that was coded up around early 2016 ish. We've removed all outdated backend modules and all our current ones have measures in place to prevent tampering or breaches.

P.S: Synapse X's database was breached too, however it was not made public information because the breacher was paid off by the team to keep it silent. Anything and everything is vulnerable, regardless of the source. Hundreds of companies suffer breaches daily, some of which are million dollar companies with the highest paid security experts. The point is, sure. We suffered a breach. That doesn't mean you should avoid SirHurt completely. Just because a company suffers a breach doesn't mean their team isn't capable of fixing and improving there codebase to prevent it from occuring again.

@pierre_spook yeah, cause synapse actually cares abt their customer's privacy. I'm pretty sure whoever paid the guy off knows that nobody likes to get their IP, Credit card, ETC get leaked to the public, for all I know.

@ThisOneGuyHere I'd like to remind you that the person who breached there database went to the Synapse team with his information and wanted money. The person who breached our site hated our guts and my communities gut's and never gave us the chance of talking him out of release, he just leaked it willy nilly. It kind of hurts to assume that you'd think I wouldn't take any kind of steps or efforts to prevent a person from releasing that information if i'm given the oppertunity to.
