Wine Official Statement
"Evidence"
I have seen some evidence in these replies that attempt or claim to show proof used to back up the claim that this exploit in anyway communicates with the internet, logging your token. (1)
This exploit does not send a single thing onto the internet, no information on the internet is modified. The only information that is read from the internet is the information stored on pastebin servers that allows me to communicate updates to the exploit. (2)
The class that is labeled "Token Logger" that exists in the source, that many have deemed legitimate proof that this exploit does log information is completely useless in reality. The "proof" claims that since such a class exists it is a token logger, although I partially agree with this claim, as such a name would be suspicious at most. This is simply not enough to be used as actual evidence. It is possible to create a class that does an operation completely unrelated to what the name states. The common term for such an assumption is known to many as, "Judging a book by it's cover." (3)
The second claim I would like to argue against, is the elaboration onto this class, that it does indeed contain the required code to log a user of this exploit. Although this I agree can be deemed extremely suspicious at best, there is still a lack of context in the situation. Where do the tokens end up? What is this class used for? If we take a further look into the soruce of Wine we find that references to this class simply do not exist. This class is not referenced/used anywhere in this source, if we try to find code that uses this code, we would simply fail, as the code that originally existed with the purpose of using this item was removed. (4)
This evidence can easily be countered and labelled as "Non-Contextual" evidence, lacking essential information to support the reasoning of your claims. Because of this any dispute relating to the addition of this class or the clear objective of the class I will ignore, if you would like to argue this point of concern please reach out to me at Nexus42#2801. (5)
Reasoning
In the first section of this statement I argue that the evidence provided in order to support claims of personal information being logged with ill intent lacks credibility and context. However to clear up any concerns you may now have after reading, I will explain the original intention of these sources, and what they were planned to be used for. (1)
The class labeled as token logger was originally designed to retrieve information from the user of Wine Official. This design allowed the exploit to create a user profile that correctly identifies the user, by transferring information from their discord profile, which include, but not limited to, the Username, User Identification and Avatar Identification (Both Courtesy of Discord Inc.). (2)
Information regarding the Username and User Identification were also both stored in the server, as a means of easily identifying users who break the TOS, giving me the ability to terminate their Wine accounts and remove them from the Discord server. This information only provided me this ability and could not be used in any other way that would be classified as "ill intent". (3)
As these services were removed in this release of Wine Official, whilst their code remains, Wine Official does not have any function/service/capability in any way, shape or form to release collected data from the user into any server that may collect this data and store it. If you find any reason for Wine Official to do so, inside of the source, once again contact me at Nexus42#2801 (4)
