VirusTotal will give you false positives, if you really want to examine the behavior ( which you should do instead of looking at the detections. ) you can by simply going to their behavior analysis tab and make your judgment from there, here's a screenshot of virustotal "detecting" a Hello World program

11 of virustotal's security vendors flagged a Hello program ( no theres no protection on it whatsoever, compiled with MSVC and nothing else... )
Don't trust virustotal to check if something is malware for the love of god

It's pretty obvious they have trash detection, I'm pretty sure every website (like vt or hybrid) will detect exploits or the example code you made as viruses
